About Author and Associates Judith
Selee McClure, Ph.D. is a business consultant
specializing in interpersonal communication. As an educational psychologist,
she was awarded the title of Professor Alumna following a distinguished
teaching career at Regis University. She is co-author of The Household
Curriculum, and president of Judith McClure and Associates, a company
focusing on issues of communication, power and leadership. Her company provides
training to numerous businesses including Raytheon, IBM
and AT&T as well as nonprofit, state, and federal organizations. Judith
currently lives in Denver, and conducts popular workshops based on the concepts
of Civilized Assertiveness ® for Women.She received the Rocky Mountain Merit Award from the Colorado Council on Working Women for her contributions and commitment toward improving conditions for women. Val
M. Williams, a native of Georgia, holds a Master’s degree
in Architecture. Val has done extensive research into the effects of the
environment on behavior, learning, and healing. She presently lives in Denver
and became passionately involved in the concepts and practices of Civilized
Assertiveness after taking Judith’s class.Judith and Val regularly team teach workshops at Colorado Free University. Together, they span three generations of the women’s movement and have integrated the work and history of the past with the concerns and issues of the present. Their research, experience, and understanding of issues facing women today make their work particularly relevant. The
